Our Parish
The Parish of the Nativity is a Catholic Christian community, commissioned by baptism, nourished by the Eucharist, empowered by the Holy Spirit, redeemed by Jesus Christ and living for the glory of God. We are a parish in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Salford in the United Kingdom. The parish was formed in 2019 by the amalgamation of the former parishes of the Immaculate Conception (St. Mary’s), Failsworth, and Holy Family, Hollinwood. The parish is administered from the Clive Road site in Failsworth.
Father Celestine
I am Fr. Celestine Nyikwagh, I was sent on Mission from the Diocese of Katsina-Ala, Nigeria to Work in the Diocese of Salford, UK. And since my arrival in April of 2023, I have been working here in the Parish of the Nativity as the Assistant Parish Priest. I love singing and listening to good Liturgical Music, and I love watching and playing football.
Mass
We have two Masses on Sunday - 9.30am and 6.00pm.
Weekday Masses are usually at 9.15am.
We are particularly keen on singing and music and the Sunday morning Mass is really wonderful - we sing everything in sight!! And at the evening Mass too - some great voices in Failsworth!

Activities
St Mary's has all the regular parish activities, but we are particularly pleased to be involved with the Oldham Food Bank - to which the parishioners send a regular weekly collection of various foods etc.
We are also involved with Caritas Salford which is located at the Cornerstone Drop-in Centre. Both the parish and the school raise money and food donations to support the important work Caritas does. We also have our Caritas Ambassadorsin school who raise the profile of the good work completed by Caritas.
